Kenneth was born May 19, 1952, to the union of the late Joseph and Illa Mae Tolbert in Toledo, OH. He is preceded in death by the following siblings: Joyce A. Tolbert, Constance L. Tolbert, Sharon D. Tolbert, Lee Tolbert, and Aaron Tolbert. The remaining living siblings he leaves to remember his life are the following: JoAnn Tolbert (Tennessee), Sandra McClelland (Canada), Latina Tolbert, Jaqueline Sims-Jackson, Jeffery (Sherry) Sims, Jerry (Mimi) Sims (Kentucky), Jermaine Sims.
Kenneth attended Jesup W. Scott High School. He was honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces in 1973.He had a great love for sports, especially basketball which he played in his younger years.
A man that loved his family and naturally found himself to be the center of attention. He made everyone laugh with his high-spirited sense of humor. Kenneth was also very protective of his family and loved ones. His words of wisdom were always shared with a compassionate, sincere heart. His beautiful smile that would light up a room will be greatly missed.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory three daughters: Antonette (James) Brown, Patrece (Donald) Maggott, and Nakisha (Aaron) Green; four grandsons: Antonio Brown, Quincy (CaVaughn) Cunningham, Marquise (Lauren) Moore, Keon Gatlin; fourgreat-granddaughters: Ciley’Rae Cunningham, Que’ala Cunningham, Qi’Ra Cunningham, and Cai’Yonna Fitzgerald; special nieces and nephew: Jamie Tolbert, Priscilla Rayford, and Trina Lewis, Derek Winfree and Aaron WilliamsSr. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and dear friends.Our hearts are broken, but we know God will provide healing and comfort as the years go by. We will continue to love you and cherish all the times we spent with you.
Kenneth’s family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Thursday from 4 – 7 PM followed by a Celebration of Life on Friday at 11:00 AM.
