Obituary

On May 11,1957 Kevin Lewis Ramsey was born at Toledo's St. Vincent hospital to Allen James "Jim" Sr and Joyce (Stender). The first years of his life were spent in Erie, MI where his neighbors were family. He loved the country life, attending Erie Mason School, helping at the apple orchard, watching the farmers and their big machinery. Even at that young age he was very mechanically inclined like his father. Sometimes he would be scolded for tearing something apart only to have it work when he put it back together. This ability shaped his entire life and he was able to pass these skills on to his kids. Kevin was very proud of how all of his children are all so talented and self sufficient.  He was very proud of the parents they had become.

At the age of ten the Ramsey moved into Toledo's Old West End where he attended Glenwood Elementary.

Like many OWE’ers he made lifelong friends and eventually came back as an adult to restore, remodel and rejuvenate several of the old homes.

The family yhen moved to Sylvania OH where he attended Sylvania High School ('75). Here he was able to hone his woodworking , metal and welding skills. He even started boxing training with his woodshop teacher , a man he simply called Coach.

All of the trainng and natural abilities led to Kevin working his own company doing anything and everything a house and home may need. He even built Angela's Beauty Shop in the backyard so his wife could work at home for herself.

As a child Kevin went out west with his family where he saw a real cowboy using a real whip and the seed was planted. At the dawn of the internet he researched and purchased his first kangaroo hide bullwhip. After teaching himself the basics "Throwin'Thunder" was born. He and his family started a traveling Wild West show with whip handling, knife throwing, rope spinning etc.  Thunder performed from Las Vegas to New Jersey. He met actors and stunt men, won awards for his whip work and was inducted into The International Knife Throwers Hall of Fame.

Eventually the hard work caught up with him and he gave it up to drive semis until he had to give it all up and go on disability. In August 2018, Kevin was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm that required surgery. Unfortunately this led to a stroke that had left him in constant pain and mostly bedridden.  On the morning of July 31,2023, Kevin went home to be with his Lord and Savior, finally free from the pains of this world.

Kevin is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and brother David.
