LaDonna Soldner, age 81, beloved Sister and Aunt, passed away peacefully Friday June 8th at Sunset Village, Sylvania, OH. She was born May 9, 1937 to Joseph & Perpetua "Betty" (Altmanshofer) Soldner in Toledo.
Donna excelled at sports and band at Woodward High School and later competed in several bowling leagues, traveling and competing in many national tournaments with her many lifelong friends. She was a lifetime parishioner of St. Adalbert’s church and enjoyed helping there behind the scenes. Donna was an avid blood donor at the American Red Cross, always willing to share life with others.
Donna retired from the US Postal Service allowing her more time to spend with family and friends. She loved music, singing and playing various instruments. She loved traveling, including Las Vegas and visiting Germany several times to visit family.
Aunt Donna was a faithful follower of her nieces and nephews sporting events, birthdays and school activities. “All I need is an invite” she would say. She helped define the word tailgating and was always prepared for a great time!
Donna is survived by brothers Joseph and Richard Soldner and sisters Betty (Munding), Janet (Bachmayer), Alice (Heller), Eleanor (Olsen) and lifelong friends Sharon & Don (dec.) Tober. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Betty Soldner, brothers William and Robert Soldner and sister Ann Marie (Cummins). Donna was a loving Aunt to 31 nieces and nephews.
Her family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the Castillo Funeral Home where funeral prayers will be offered Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by Funeral Mass at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church at 10 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Upon her passing, Donna’s family wishes to thank the staff at Sunset Village Nursing Home, Sylvania for the wonderful, loving care of their Sister and Aunt.
