Lauren Marie Gillespie

The light of Lauren Marie Gillespie entered our lives on November 11, 1987, in Toledo, Ohio to Lawrence and Evangeline Gillespie. She was raised in Toledo and resided with her parents and daughter Jadah Lynn Gillespie. Lauren graduated from Roy C. Start High School in 2006. She received training at The Ability Center of Greater Toledo, where she earned a certificate in Building Services. She worked for Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio, Inc on and off for approximately 13 years. In 2019, she was the proud recipient of the Employee of the Year award for embodying the spirit of Goodwill. Lauren was an avid reader and constantly kept up on the latest technology trends and was a die-hard Kobe Bryant fan! You would rarely see her without representing one of her favorite teams: The Los Angeles Lakers, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed volunteering for multiple organizations such as Glass City Marathon, Race for the Cure, MS Bike to the Bay, and many other organizations throughout the years. One of her favorite past-times included spending time with family and friends, she exuded an infectious joy to anyone she encountered. Lauren was our professional photographer for every event no matter what the occasion, she never missed a moment worth capturing. Lauren was preceded in death by grandparents Willie Lee and Rose Marie Cooper, Robert Lee and Willie Mae Gillespie. She leaves to cherish her memory, parents Lawrence and Evangeline Gillespie of Toledo, OH; her daughter Jadah; brother Brandon Gillespie (nieces Mila, Marley, and nephew Nolan); special Aunt's Pencila Cooper of Alexandra, VA; Mrs. Tina (Avery) Cooper of Toledo, OH; special sister Deonna Gregory; special family friend Mrs. Yvette Jones and a host of other loving relatives, co-workers, and dear friends.

Family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Sunday from 4 PM to 7 PM where funeral services will be held at 11 AM.Monday with interment at Histroic Woodlawn Cemetery.
