Lynn Matie (Martin) Thurston

Lynn Thurston, 66, of Toledo, passed away on September 16, 2024.  She was born on September 4, 1958, to Jack and Doris (Jones) Martin. She would go on to meet Stephen Thurston and they would celebrate 27 years of love together before his untimely passing in 2009. 

 Lynn worked numerous different jobs throughout her life including roofing, hotel reception, as well as many others.  She has always loved animals of all types including her beloved dogs Dolly Jo and Sweet Lou.  She rooted for the Michigan Wolverines and supported the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns.  She also had a love for the Detroit Tigers.  Lynn was the outgoing type, and she would definitely let you know what she was thinking.  Lynn had a laugh that was loved by all that knew her (you couldn’t help but hear it).  Lynn loved her family and will be missed by many.

 Left to cherish Lynn’s memory are her daughter Paige Thurston (Timothy Netry); stepdaughters, Kristi Clendenin (Richard); Jaime Cox; sisters Kim Tuke (Greg), Karen Szafarowicz (James), Lee Parkhill (Bryan); sister-in-law, Carolyn Thurston, brother-in-law, Sam Thurston; Granddaughter, Jadyn Lee, many step grandchildren; Lifelong friend; Josie Stokes; Special niece Heidi as well as many other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; aunts and uncles; brothers-in-law, Dan Thurston, Mark Thurston; Her loving husband of 27 years Stephen Thurston as well as her second husband, Mark McFarland.

The Family will be having a Celebration of Life Reception Graveside on Saturday September 21, 2024, at Toledo Memorial Park located at 6382 Monroe St. Sylvania, OH at 12pm.  Memorial contributions can be made to the care of the family.  Arrangements are being handled by Castillo Funeral Home.  Flowers can be delivered to the funeral home arriving no later than Saturday early morning.
