Martha Hicks Obituary

Martha Sue Hicks passed away Sunday December 19, 2021 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center at the age of 77. She was born November 25, 1944 in Monroe, MI to Russell and Helen (Venia) Grodi and graduated from Ida High School in 1962. Martha had various jobs over the years but most of all she was a great homemaker. She had a no nonsense strict attitude with her 3 boys and daughter and they have become hardworking adults. When Martha said something she meant it and she usually got her way.

In 7th grade, she met the love of her life Gerald Hicks and they married in 1964.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 57 years Gerald; sons Kevin, Russel (Laura) and Todd (Beth); daughter Lisa Hicks DeArmond; grandchildren Sierra Hawkins, Cooper Hicks, Bryn DeArmond, Kenly DeArmond, Katlyn Hade and Cody (Sarah) Hade, Hope Schweitzer, Lily Schweitzer, Caitlyn Schweitzer and Grace Schweitzer; great granddaughter Eleanor Hade and sister Lois Cunningham.

Her family will have a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
