Mary Ellen (Yount) Mullins

Mary Ellen (Yount) Mullins, age 76, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Mary lived a life filled with love, dedication, and joy.

Mary spent her summers tending to her garden, where she lovingly grew and canned her own vegetables. An avid fisherwoman, she also enjoyed garage sales, always on the lookout for a good deal or hidden treasure. In the winter months, she turned her attention to coloring, building puzzles and sewing, finding peace and satisfaction in these quiet pastimes.

Mary had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished the simple pleasure of driving through the countryside. Her greatest joy, however, came from her family, particularly her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

In her final months, Mary found comfort in the home of her daughter Ellen and son-in-law Younes. Surrounded by the laughter and joy of her grandchildren as they played and swam, Mary spent her days enveloped in the love of her family.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Mullins, and her children: Tonjya (Paul) Williams, Chris (Jodi) Carver, Charles Ronald (Jessica) Hounshell, Charles Nathan Hounshell, and Ellen (Younes) Hounshell. She was a proud grandmother to Jessica Sherman, Christopher (Ashley) Carver, Joshua (Brian) Williams, Tyler (Amber) Carver, Devon Hounshell, Briana Hounshell, Anastasia Hounshell, Zain Dia, Ayva Dia, Camdyn Smith, Jacob Williams, Victoria Lang, and Jamie Williams. She is also survived by many great grandchildren. 

Mary’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her love for her family and the simple joys of life will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. 

Her family will recieve friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Friday after 3 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6 PM.
