Shalonda Evette Jones

Shalonda Evette Jones affectionately known as “Lonnie” was born October 4, 1970 and departed this life May 4, 2023.Shalonda was born into the union of James E. Jones, Sr. & Diane Jones.

Shalonda was employed at various sites as a manual laborer. She was loving caring person who overcame many obstacles in her life. Lonnie loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandkids whom she adored.

Shalonda was preceded in death by her loving & amazing parents James & Diane; sister Angela Jones, brother James L. Jones II “Redd”; grandmothers Mattie Gilmer & Roberta Smith; grandfathers Lawrence Gilmer, Sr., Tommie Smith and James Starman-Jones; aunts Bonnie Gilmer, Erma Thompson, Ruby, Catherine Paige, Annie Watson & Juanita Smith; uncles John Henry Gilmer, Tommie Jones & Charles Smith; niece Brittany Jones and nephews Levell Saunder and James Jones III.

Shalonda leaves to forever cherish her memories her legacy Shahid McCellan (2 grand kids Zamarion & Shiara), Jamar Jones ( 3 kids J’unyah and Josiah & Jamya)  Emmanel Jones (3 kids Zy’niyla, Emmanuel Jr. and Harley Quinn); sister Monique, Jeanette, Juanita; brother Terrence (Earnestine) and Antoine Jones; special friend Veda Jones; as well as a legion of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. for Celebration of Life Saturday May 20, 2023 at 2 PM. Memorial tributes may be made to her family via this website to help offset expenses.
