Tony Cervantes Ruiz

Tony Cervantes Ruiz (71) passed away unexpectantly at home on October 21, 2024. Tony was born in Toledo, Ohio, and attended high school there before joining the United States Army and leaving for Fort Campbell, Kentucky, to proudly serve his country in the 101st Airborne Division. It was in the U.S. Army that Tony learned his welding skills, which he used throughout his civilian career working for Jeep, and in shipyards. Tony was the loving father of four children and one step-son, and had an extended family that loved him dearly. Tony will be remembered as a sharp dresser who took pride in his appearance. Tony enjoyed socializing, dining, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and helping others. Tony is survived by two sons, John Dorn, and Santiago (Kristi) Ruiz; a daughter, Marcellina (Rudy) Ruiz; his former wife, Elena Parraz; a stepson, Joseph Parraz; his significant other, Erminia “Minnie” Vasquez; and several grandchildren. Tony is also survived by his four brothers, Cruz (Nancy) Ruiz, Jr., Pedro (Estella) Ruiz, Guadalupe (Maria) Ruiz, Abelino (Jeanne) Ruiz; and three sisters, Isabel “Kitty” Young, Mary Canales, and Alisia Ruiz. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Cruz and Isabel (Cervantes) Ruiz; son, Angelo Ruiz; grandson Santiago "Dewie" Ruiz, Jr.and sisters, Josephine Ruiz-Gartee and Rita Ruiz.

His Family will recieve friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Friday after 3 PM followed by funeral services at 6 PM.
